Man allegedly carjacks woman on their first date

Donald McGeeFlorida resident Nimeha Millen has a first date memory for the books. Nimeha spent her 21st birthday on a date with 19-year-old, Donald Bernard McGee Jr. who she met after communicating through text message.

Before a surprising turn of events, the two strolled through a local park in Palm Beach County until around 10 p.m. last Friday night. After their time in the park, the young couple went to a nearby Wendy’s to wait for Donald’s brother who was supposed to be coming to pick him up.

Donald’s way of ending the night definitely did not leave a good impression on his date. According to The Huffington Post, he took out a gun and demanded that Nimeha get out of her car. The young woman went to the nearest gas station to get help. Once Nimeha found help, she and the driver chased Donald down Interstate 95. The police were alerted and caught up with Donald, who would not stop.

Donald lost control of the vehicle and attempted to run. After police caught him, the 19-year-old claimed that his date carjacked him and he took off in order to “get out of the area,” The Sun Sentinel reports.

Donald was arrested and is charged with carjacking with a firearm, marijuana possession, fleeing police, driving without a valid license and robbery with a firearm.

Nimeha celebrated her birthday on Monday. “I’m glad I’m alive … because I want to be able to make a difference in this world,” she told WPBF. “If I’d died that night, I wouldn’t have done anything.”
