Lil’ Mo names artists she can out sing

Lil MoLil’ Mo is confident in her gift and has no doubt she could out sing Ciara, Keri Hilson, Olivia and few others.

“Circles…around all three of them if they were in a group and they were backed by RocNation,” Lil’ Mo joked during an interview with DJs at Power 105.1.

The “R&B Divas: LA” star said she’s blessed to be able to sing in churches, alongside rapper Fabolous or at any other venue.

“That’s just the gift and the anointing that’s over my life. I’m not mad at nobody for their gift, but my gift is something special, and I don’t take it for granted, and I don’t like when people take theirs for granted,” said Lil’ Mo who named a couple gospel artists she considers her vocal peers.

“Karen Clark Sheard, Kim Burrell,” she listed, noting that they all have more “church” voices. “I have swag, but I’m straight church.”

Mo wasn’t asked to pit her vocal ability against that of Beyoncé, and she’s learned from watching others, that speaking ill of Queen Bee isn’t a good idea.

“You don’t talk about Beyoncé,” Lil’ Mo said. “When you mention the Queen Bee, suddenly your career disappears into thin air.”

That may be true of Beyoncé’s Destiny’s Child group members, too, and Lil’ Mo was one of those who defended Michelle Williams when Keyshia Cole dissed her Super Bowl performance.

“When you try to attack who you think is the weakest link…be very careful and mindful of what you put in the atmosphere because people are watching,” said Mo who explained that she’s close with Michelle.

“Why are you trying to come at her? She’s at the Super Bowl. B!tc#, you ain’t there… You start naming names, you make yourself a target to the fans who are from Michelle’s camp and Bey’s camp,” she said, acknowledging that Keyshia was just sharing her opinion.

“It ain’t about what you say. It’s all about how you deliver it,” said Lil’ Mo who doubts Keyshia would ever say it to anyone’s face.

Though she admittedly “felt some type of way” about Keyshia’s comments, the mother of four said she tries to avoid the unnecessary drama.

“I believe what you put out there is what you get back,” she said.
