During the first episode of “R&B Divas” season 2 premiered last week, viewers watched Nicci Gilbert and co-star Syleena Johnson go at it over what seemed to be another workout video business deal gone wrong. Sound familiar?
While it seems the conflict between the two will be the bulk of the drama this season, Nicci took to her Twitter account to clear the air about some things. She explained why she didn’t sign off on Syleena’s workout DVD.
“Syleena called me after Season 1 & asked if I would help her produce her Workout DVD my team did it and backend business wasn’t handled #FB,” she tweeted Thursday.
Nicci said that after her team produced it, Syleena allegedly never paid them.
“If Syleena would have paid my Crew for shooting and editing not one but Two DVDs for her I would have signed off…My appearance was FREE #FB,” she wrote.
While some found their workout drama to be eerily familiar to that of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” stars Phaedra Parks and Kenya Moore, Nicci said the difference was that her videos were shot and edited; she was just never paid for them.
“I helped her produce the DVD because I’m a woman who wants to see other women WIN…But you have to handle your BUSINESS PROPERLY,” she wrote. She went on to say, “I don’t have friendships with women who tell me to suck 10 bags of wieners and MUSH & PUSH people I consider friends…WHERE THEY DO THAT AT?”
Syleena tweeted earlier: “Mushing and pushing for the record I NEVER did! NOT lying for ratings! Hahahhahahahahahahahhah hell naw!! That’s called SLANDER! #ILLEGAL.”
It seems all this drama may land the two somewhere they don’t want to be…in court. Nicci hinted that she may be suing Syleena over this by writing, “Lawyer Up Boo…Lawyer UP!!”
