Three missing girls found after 10 years

After nearly a decade of searching, three missing girls have finally been found in Ohio. A 911 call to to a Cleveland dispatcher led to the rescue of Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus, Michele Knight yesterday. A 6-year-old child believed to be Amanda’s daughter was also found in the home.

ABC News reports that Amanda alerted authorities on Wednesday afternoon after a neighbor named Charles Ramsey helped her to escape. “Help me. I’m Amanda Berry,” she told a 911 dispatcher. “I’ve been kidnapped and I’ve been missing for 10 years and I’m, I’m here, I’m free now.”

Amanda was 16 when she disappeared in 2013, while Gina vanished in 2004 at the age of 14. Michele was the first to go missing in 2002 at 21 years old. All the women were taken to the hospital and they are being checked out by doctors.

Ariel Castro, a school bus driver, is said to be the man that held the women captive for all those years. Neighbors describe him as a mysterious, quiet man that was kind to the neighborhood kids. Supposedly, he kept the windows boarded up, and this is not the first time that trouble has been reported at Ariel’s house. He’s currently in custody.
