Jason Collins denies seeking book deal
Jason Collins is denying reports that he’s signed on for any book deals. The NBA playwer, who recently sat down with Oprah Winfrey, shot down reports that he’s looking to become an author.
Since he came out of the closet in an open letter in Sports Illustrated, several publishing houses have claimed that Jason’s camp has reached out to them about the baller writing a book. But Jason and his team tell a very different story.
“As of now [we] have not had any discussions on behalf of Jason regarding a potential book deal because Jason has yet to decide if he wants to write a book,” Jason’s agent said in a statement. “Right now my focus is preparing for Jason’s upcoming free agency and securing the best opportunity for him to continue his career.”
And just in case that wasn’t clear enough, Jason then tweeted, “Contrary to SportsCenter reports, I have no current plans to write any books. Sorry to disappoint my literary loving fans. #GoingToTheGym.”
