While many mothers will be showered with candy and flowers this Mother’s Day, Pamela Montgomery-Bosley will be trying not to think too hard about the void left in her life following the death of her son, Terrell.
“Around Mother’s Day, we come together and do different things. Mother’s Day is so hard for us,” said Pam about her and the other mothers she supports. All have lost children to gun violence.
“It’s hard to wake up without your child. I don’t have the little candy Terrell would give me,” said Pam who is tired of the violence in Chicago that’s claimed the lives of hundreds of teens and young adults.
“We have 40 shootings in one weekend,” said Pam who tried to offer some solutions. “Parents need to show love for their children. They need to spend time with them, and we need to stand.”
