Jaden Smith: ‘I’m not going anywhere’

Jaden SmithWill and Jada Pinkett Smith may use somewhat unconventional methods of parenting, but they’re obviously not raising a fool.

Will and Jaden Smith appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Wednesday, and the teen refuted rumors that he wants to be emancipated and live apart from his famous mom and dad.

“Here’s the thing I need to explain. I’m not going anywhere. The thing that people don’t get is everything at his house is free. So, I can get anything and everything that I want at his house. So, I think I’m going to be there for 20, 30 more years,” Jaden joked.

Will said he thinks the rumors of Jaden’s desired emancipation started with him when he made a joke during their trip to Tokyo to promote their new movie After Earth.

“My baby boy, he’s never leaving me ever,” Will joked with Ellen. “No emancipation for the Smith kids.”

Jaden, 14, seems to be enjoying life under his parents’ roof; although, he said he could use fewer public displays of affection from dear old dad.

After Earth is Jaden’s second film with Will, but when Jaden’s movies begin grossing what his father’s do, he may have to venture out on his own.

“He says that as soon as I have a movie that’s as big as one of his movies, then I have to get my own house,” said Jaden.
