Erica Dixon had to break off her engagement to Lil Scrappy because she doesn’t believe that he actually wanted to marry her.

Erica and Scrappy’s relationship has been on shaky ground from the moment they first appeared on “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” last season. When he proposed on the season 1 reunion, fans initially thought that a wedding was soon to follow–as is usually the case.

This season, however, VH1 viewers have seen Momma Dee do everything she could to tear them apart. But in the end, it was Scrappy’s actions that eventually drove Erica away. She called off their engagement two episodes back after finding out that Scrappy was still in contact with other women, who were under the impression that it was okay to send text messages in the middle of the night.

That was the last straw for Erica, who told Mouth To Ears that she doesn’t believe that Scrappy even porposed to her for the right reasons.

“We’re co-parenting. I definitely called off the engagement. Clearly Scrappy wasn’t ready. I feel like the whole proposal, at the end of the day, was to save his image. It was all about how he looked to the people,” she stated.

“I believe he proposed at the end on the reunion because he was getting so much hate from fans and I think it was just too much for him to deal with,” said Erica. “I feel like as time progressed, the truth came out about what his true intentions really were.”

Some may question why she even agreed to marry him, if she wasn’t sure that his intentions and feelings for her were true. As she explained, she was fully invested in the relationship because she believed that Scrappy had truly turned over a new leaf. Over time, though, her sneaking suspicions about his behavior  became an unavoidable fact.

With her resolve to end the relationship, Erica and Scrappy are no longer living together and she’s back on the search for Mr. Right. She’s not leaping into another relationship right away, though. “I’m definitely open to dating,” she said. “I’m not necessarily going to say I have somebody new, but I am open to dating. It’s nothing serious right now.”
