JB Smoove launches management company
Comedian JB Smoove has become an entertainment executive! Deadline.com reports that the “Real Husbands of Hollywood” star and his manager Rick Dorfman are teaming up with comedy agent Conan Smith to launch Converge Media Group.
The company, to be backed by financier Adam Benowitz, will be a full-service organization focusing on management, production and branded entertainment. As partners, JB, Rick, Conan and Adam have set up an office in New York City. Converge also has 10,000 sq ft studio just outside the city in Irvington, New York.
Converge has already amassed an impressive roster as Rachel Dratch, Lynne Koplitz and Chris DiStefano among others have signed on as clients. JB will be starring in one of the company’s first productions, “Four Courses with JB Smoove,” which debuts tonight at 9 p.m. on MSG.
