Kelly Rowland won’t name abusive ex

Weeks after Kelly Rowland revealed her past with domestic abuse in “Dirty Laundry,” she’s sill not naming which former love hit her.

In a recent chat with omg! Insider Kelly had a hard time keeping herself together as she talked about the close bond she has with Beyonce and Michelle Williams. Those bonds went a long way in helping her break away from a relationship that was abusive on every level.

“It was an emotional roller coaster. A piece of me would just go away every time he would say something,” said Kelly, who recalled that her ex tried to convince that he was the only one in the world that cared about her. “I remember those words. We all know how these relationships work. The person that’s trying to tear you away from those people that build you up, so that they can tear you down.

When Kelly sang about an ex-boyfriend putting his hands on her, fans immediately started to wonder which one it was. First people, thought it might have been her former fiance Roy Williams. However, Roy wasted no time denying those suspicions. He later hinted that Kelly’s old abuser may have been Cuda Love, but that has yet to be confirmed.

“That’s not important. But he’s a different person now. He’s a better person now. I had to walk away. You just get tired. You get tired of not being happy. That’s just not a life you want to live.”

The same day Kelly also confirmed what many had been speculating after the release of “Dirty Laundry” last month: the Destiny’s Child song “Girl” is about her. What amazed Kelly more than anything was how quickly people were able to cognitively link the two songs.

“Yes. It’s so funny because I don’t know how people connect dots with music and artist that they have followed for so long, but when I saw that on Twitter of people starting to put all the [pieces] together, like it was so interesting,” Kelly told “Philly’s Morning Show with Shamara and Laiya” on Hot 107.9.

But Kelly noted that “Girl” wasn’t the only song dedicated to her, stating, “They did it with “Girl,” they did it with “Bad Habit.” They did it with so many songs on that album and I was like, ‘Okay! Crazy!'”
