‘Scandal’ heads to BET
Olivia Pope and President Fitzgerald Grant are heading to BET! According to The Hollywood Reporter, BET has acquired the off-network rights to ABC’s hit political drama “Scandal.” This means that BET will now be airing re-runs from the first two seasons of the show as part of an early syndication deal.
“We’re thrilled to be joining forces with ABC in airing this dynamic series,” said BET’s Debra Lee said. “Scandal is a cultural phenomenon that has resonated with viewers for the past two seasons and we’re excited to be part of its continued journey.”
Not only will BET be broadcasting the last two season, it will also be airing new episodes from season 3 when “Scandal” returns this fall. There’s no word at this time on how long it will take new episodes to air on BET after their initial broadcast on ABC.
This is a huge score of BET’s first dramatic syndication deal, which will supposedly continue for as long as “Scandal” is on the air.
