Tyra Banks sues wig makers for $10 million
What you won’t do is jack Tyra Banks’ style and get away with it! TMZ.com reports that the supermodel-turned-media powerhouse is suing 10 wig companies for the unlawful use of her name and likeness to sell their products.
Tyra filed suit in Los Angeles County court, claiming that the companies have been using her “name, photograph, image, and identity.” She also stated in court documents that they are using her trademarks, selling hairpieces The Yaki straight[Tyra-Banks style] wig and the Tyra Banks custom lace wig #046. The wig makers are also selling Tyra Banks inspired human hair wigs for $300 each.
The “America’s Next Top Model” creator is seeking an injunction to shut down sales of any products with her name or likeness on them and $10 million in damages.
