Chanté Moore has walked down the aisle twice, but the “R&B Divas: LA” star said she’s in no rush to do it again.
“Just thinking of actually waking up to the same guy everyday, ‘No, thank you,’ said Chanté who was married to Kenny Lattimore after divorcing “A Different World” actor Kadeem Hardison, who she referred to as the love of her life.
“I really want to date. I really want to be free. I can fly off to New York, Japan or Taiwan and nobody’s gonna be like, ‘You going without me?’” she said. “I love the freedom and the joy of it. I’ve been unhappily married for too long.”
Some of Chanté’s drama with ex-husband, Kenny, was aired on “R&B Divas: LA.” The crooner was apparently seeking full custody of their son, but Chanté assured that the legal battle is over.
“It just hurt my feelings that he would even go there, but it’s over. It was irritating. I was more concerned about my son’s feelings and whether he was going to be hurt, but it turned out fine. All is well,” Chanté said.
Now, that she’s a free women, Chanté said she’s making the most of her days as a single lady, and she advises other unattached women to do the same.
“Be content with where you are. The Bible talks about being content with being rich or poor,” she said. “Find joy in the moment. It’s fun to be hugged and loved and paid attention to and to be told you’re beautiful, but date the crap out of somebody. Have a good time. It doesn’t take being married to have fun.”
Chante talks about Kenny Lattimore, “R&B Divas” and more in the November 2013 issue of Sister 2 Sister. Don’t miss it!
