According to Phaedra Parks, she and Kenya Moore are now cordial with one another, but that doesn’t mean the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” stars are through throwing shade.
Phaedra and Kenya have been less than friendly since the DVD debacle of season 5 that found both women releasing similar workout videos. Adding fuel to the fire was the fact that Kenya and Apollo were keeping in touch, apparently without Phaedra’s knowledge.
Though Kenya has since clarified that the text messages between her and Apollo were platonic, Phaedra didn’t as quickly forgive her for advising that the husband and wife take AIDS tests, implying that maybe Apollo caught something communicable while behind bars.
“The reason I was so upset is because AIDS is a very serious disease, and it should not be taken lightly,” Phaedra explained to TheGrio.com. “It affects, unfortunately, mostly Black women…Black women are the highest carriers of AIDS, so she should probably get tested.”
However, when it comes to Apollo, Kenya said she’s done nothing with the “RHOA” hubby that would require testing.
“Regardless of what she claims, I NEVER OFFERED SEX, ORAL OR OTHERWISE, TO APOLLO,” she wrote in her BravoTV.com blog. “The facts are, I have never offered nor been offered sex by Apollo. The fact is, I have nothing to hide or lie about with regard to him.”
She claims she’s told nothing but the truth, and Kenya accuses Phaedra of spreading untruths.
“She called me every name in the book, lied, and called me an alcoholic, bipolar, fake, amongst other cruel monikers,” said Kenya who admits she responded with her own insults toward Phaedra. However, she denies ever propositioning him.
“I would not intentionally disrespect her union. And for that I did apologize for her feeling that way. If there is anyone a married woman would want around their husbands, it would be me. I don’t want any married man, never have, never will,” she wrote.
It’s all well and good that Kenya’s not too interested in married men, since marriage seems to come with its own set of problems. “RHOA” viewers have likely noticed that things have been tense between the parents and business partners, but Phaedra said that’s to be expected.
“Like any other relationship it’s an evolving challenge,” said Phaedra who mentioned that adding a new baby to the mix takes some adjustment. “It’s a work in progress.”
