Paul Walker dead at 40
Paul Walker, star of the Fast & Furious franchise, died in a car crash on Saturday afternoon in Santa Clarita, California.
A self-described “adrenaline junkie,” Paul was riding in a Porsche GT with race car driver Roger Rodas when the vehicle flew off the road and hit a tree. The New York Daily News reports that the sports car burst into flames shortly after impact, killing both men inside.
When news of the deadly crash first hit the Web, many believed it to be a hoax ripped right from the pages of a Fast & Furious script. Paul’s rep, however, told E! News on Saturday, “Sadly I must confirm that Paul did pass away this afternoon in a car crash.”
Paul, 40, is survived by his daughter Meadow Walker. Production for Fast & Furious 7 was in production at the time of Paul’s passing, but it’s not clear how much he had left to shoot. His last tweet was a movie still of him standing with Tyrese and Vin Diesel. See it below.
