Gabrielle Douglas story headed to Lifetime
At the age of 18, she likely has a lot more life to live, but Gabrielle Douglas’ first memorable years will be chronicled in an upcoming Lifetime movie.
“There are things it touches on in my life story that the book didn’t,” Gabby told “Access Hollywood.” The movie stars Regina King as Gabby’s mom.
“I am not acting in the Lifetime movie,” she clarified.
The Olympian has already written two books about her life and journey to gold in the 2012 Olympics, but now she’s refocused on the 2016 Games.
“I’m training really hard,” she said, speculating that the entire Fierce Five will return. “We’re all trying to make a comeback. The Olympic experience was really fun. Who wouldn’t want to do it again?”
Gabby said she hopes the film will inspire.
“The main thing is to keep going whether you have challenges or difficulty, just keep striving,” she said.
