Much to her fans’ disappointment, “Project Runway” star Korto Momolu walked away from the show’s latest All-Star season without the top prize.
For the third time in her history on the show, the Liberian-born designer came in second.
“This moment may have its setbacks and heartbreaks, but the challenges, competition, friendships, support and encouragement from at home and abroad and the push for excellence and understanding as an artist is unrivaled,” Korto wrote on her Facebook page. “This is why I returned to All Stars for a second round.
Fashionistas were introduced to Korto on season 5 of the popular design challenge show, hosted by Heidi Klum. Korto was runner-up, second to winner Leanne Marshall.
She first returned as an All-Star season in ’09. Daniel Vosovic was crowned the winner with Korto placing second again. Thursday’s season finale marks the third time, the talented designer fell short of claiming the title.
“Falling is only a bad thing when you don’t get up,” Korto tweeted after “Project Runway” viewers watched Seth Aaron win for his second time.
Though the judges, including Alyssa Milano and guest judge Gayle King, didn’t deem Korto the winner, she was overwhelmed with supporters on social media who disagreed with their decision.
“Tears for all the love I’m getting right now,” she wrote. “I’m always #2 but God knows that ain’t the truth.”
