After insinuating that “Real Housewives of Atlanta” stars Phaedra Parks and Kandi Burruss were little more than physical conquests, former NFL baller Chuck Smith tried to clean up his statements.
“I should have talked about them in a different way,” Chuck told GossipExtra.com. “I should have given my wife a little more information about them. It’s just unfortunate I got caught in this situation.”
“RHOA” viewers watched as Chuck’s wife Mynique Smith, confronted Kandi and Phaedra about their pasts with the Athens, Ga., native. She was under the impression that the decades-old relationships were just flings, but Kandi informed Mynique that it went a little deeper than that.
After hearing Phaedra and Kandi’s perspectives on their relationships from his wife, Chuck engaged in some harsh damage control, calling the women part of “his team” and Phaedra a “friend with benefits.”
“Phaedra was just an ugly duckling from the sixth grade,” he said. Apparently, his relationship with Kandi was a bit more. “Her mama cooked good food,” Chuck recalled.
Even though Mynique and Chuck are the two who continue to bring up the years-old relationships, he said he’s been surprised by the attention.
“Why is what I did at 27 that important?” he asked. “It should be about what I do now teaching the art of the pass rush and how to be a good NFL rookie.”
