Porsha Williams lost herself in marriage to Kordell Stewart

TwitPics_porsha_112113Porsha Williams said she lost herself while married to ex-husband Kordell Stewart, but she’s now found the independent, happy person she once was.

“When you go through any type of relationship that ends bad, it takes something from you, and you have to get it back and what you’ve lost is a piece of yourself. For me, I feel like I’ve gotten back to being completely Porsha…Porsha Williams that is,” she told Bethenny Frankel.

Porsha said she’d lost sight of her worth and poured so much in to her marriage that there was little left over for her.

“Real Housewives of Atlanta” fans watched the marital union end before their eyes as Porsha held onto her “fake it until we make it” mentality. However, she realized that was doing more harm than good.

“The more that you push for a relationship or your family to work, you’re giving so much of yourself, you forget about you. I forgot about things that make me happy or even demanding happiness from somebody,” said Porsha who learned she had to make herself a priority.

“I have to love me more than I loved him. Once that happened, I realized that my needs, my wants, my dreams were more important than anybody else, and it’s okay to little selfish sometimes,” she said.

Porsha has hinted at a romantic relationship with a man a well-known man, but she’s not ready to share his identity yet. However, her fans should know that he will appreciate her more than Kordell did.

“I’m realizing my worth. My next relationship, he better recognize what I’m worth,” said Porsha. “I feel like I have a new beginning and it’s just great, and I’m just enjoying it.”
