Beyoncé’s Destiny’s Child sister Michelle Williams decided to explain some recent comments she made about the “Drunk In Love” singer’s latest album.
In an interview with US Weekly, she stated that hearing Beyoncé talk about intimate things publicly made her uncomfortable.
“I don’t know if it’s laughter or shyness or embarrassment because the makeup artist and everyone was listening to her say these things,” Michelle said. “I’m like, ‘That’s private, girl.’”
Michelle isn’t the only one who’s reacted to Beyoncé’s more raunchy persona lately. Some parents criticized her sexy Grammy performance with hubby Jay-Z. However, Michelle said her comment was not a criticism.
“I would never say that [I was embarrassed] about my sister’s work. She has a great body of work, an amazing catalogue,” she told “The Insider.”
With that said, Michelle admitted that hearing Beyoncé speak so openly about sex was new to her.
“I was trying not to laugh because I said, ‘I can’t believe my sister, you know, she’s liberated; she’s free,” Michelle told HipHollywood.com. “To hear her saying some of the things, I’m just cracking up because I’m like, ‘Nobody is supposed to know that except us.’”
Michelle said she considers Beyoncé a little sister and anyone else would react the same way when hearing about the innocence lost of such a close friend.
“Could you imagine your little sister or someone finally deciding, ‘I am going to be free and liberated in every way I know how musically, which means I’m going to be a little more sexier… We aren’t supposed to know all that, but she is married and has produced a baby, and we know what you have to do to produce a baby. So, okay!”
For those who concluded that Michelle was throwing shade at her DC sister, she said, “Shame on you. That is not what I meant.”
