Evelyn Lozada is amazed at how her life has turned around since her slate of personal tragedies in 2012.
Two years ago, Evelyn was riding high as the main mean girl on an especially violent season of “Basketball Wives.” As season 4 drew to a close, she was preparing for her wedding to Chad Johnson and their never-aired nuptial spin-off “Ev & Ocho.”
Weeks after she said “I do,” though, everything came crashing down around her as brief marriage to Chad ended in an explosive domestic incident when she found a receipt for condoms in his car.
“I had the worst 2012, I thought my life was over,” Evelyn admitted to Life & Style magazine.
“It happened so publicly, and then the passing of my brother-in-law,” Evelyn said. “That entire incident [with Chad] led me to where I am now.”
Evelyn’s in a good place with her life now as she anticipates the birth of her son with new fiancee Carl Crawford. “He came into my life at a perfect time,” Evelyn said “Everything that happened makes me appreciate him 1,000 times more and he also makes me a better person.”
She’s so content with how things are now that she understands how her past struggles contributed to her joy now. “I would say my broken bridge led me to happiness,” she explained. “If I had to do it again, I would because I truly feel complete right now in my life and I wouldn’t change it for anything.”
