NeNe Leakes is serious about her “Dancing With the Stars” participation and is planning to bring lots of “soul, energy and pop” to the show.
Though she’s up against some stiff competition, including Drew Carey, Billy Dee Williams, Danica McKellar and multiple athletes, NeNe said she’s not too worried.
“They’re professionals. They’re skinny. They’re young,” she told Jimmy Kimmel. “I don’t think they have soul…They’re very stiff.”
She believes that the athletes she’s competing against have endurance, but NeNe, who has experience as an exotic dancer, thinks her personality will be an advantage.
“My strategy is to bring a lot of soul, a lot of personality,” she said. “I’m a wild card.”
This season, “Dancing With the Stars” has thrown in a twist, announcing that contestants may have to switch partners mid-season. NeNe’s taking the news in stride.
“When I heard it, I didn’t like it, but I figure I will be with Maks [Maksim Aleksandrovich] because everyone else is too short,” she reasoned.
Regardless of who she may be paired with after the season begins, NeNe assures she’ll be a giving it her best shot.
“I’m going to bring it. You better put your money on me,” she said.
