‘Jumping the Broom’ sequel moving forward
A sequel for Jumping The Broom is finally moving forward and some big names are attached to the project behind the scenes. Shadow and Act reports TD Jakes Productions is linking up with Tracey Edmonds for the project, which was announced last year. Meagan Good’s hubby DeVon Franklin will be overseeing the production for Sony Pictures.
Unfortunately, there’s no word on whether Salim Akil will return to direct. Elizabth Hunter, who wrote the original Jumping The Broom, has agreed to pen the sequel. This time the plot will center around a couple from two very different families that bring everyone together for their wedding weekend in New York City.
Jumping The Broom fans shouldn’t necessarily expect Paula Patton and Laz Alonso to return for the film’s follow up as no cast members have been confirmed just yet. The plot this time also seems to center around a whole different set of soon-to-be family members.
