Porsha Williams is not a huge fan of Wendy Williams or the way she dishes up gossip, and she’s giving the daytime diva a taste of her own medicine.
In Porsha’s opinion, Wendy can be pretty catty when she chats about hot topics. Wendy’s even questioned her intellect on a few occasions. When the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star dropped by V-103 she got a chance to voice her opinion about the chat host, who she says gabs at the expense of other Black women.
“It’s enough of women of power, women of color, not supporting each other. Like every time I see her say something about me, I’m disappointed in her. She’s calling me less than smart; she’s less than a woman.” Porsha stated, firing a nasty shot of her own. “I’ve been through a very traumatic situation that hurt me. All I’m trying to do is stand and be strong and possibly inspire somebody else. All she does is knock me down.”
Of course Porsha pointed out that she doesn’t put too much stock into anything that Wendy says on the show, recalling some questionable advice that Wendy publicly gave her. “This is the same woman who said that I should have had a baby by my ex to get cash. Really? I’ll never stoop that low,” said Porsha, who expressed that she expects a lot better of Wendy than she’s been putting out. “For her to have the type of platform she has, she should use it better than she does. I’m disappointed in her.”
Porsha pointed to daytime TV icon Oprah Winfrey as an example of how Wendy could wield her power for good. “As a TV host, Oprah…she influences not only her audience but the world. To get to that level, you have to be intelligent, you have to learn how to deal with that power and use it positively,” Porsha explained.
This isn’t to say that Oprah always plays nice during her interviews, but the OWN founder strikes a balance that Porsha feels Wendy has yet to consider. “Oprah will definitely go in. If she had an interview with me, she would dig in deep. But she will also build me back up,” Porsha said. “Wendy never builds people up in a positive way. Definitely not Black women. I feel like it’s low and it’s sad.”
Porsha also set the record straight on whether she blames Bravo and the reality TV curse for her devastating divorce from Kordell Stewart.
