A prophet in his own right, Charlamagne Tha God is one of the most talked-about radio personalities of this generation, especially after he told Kanye West face-to-face that he was disappointed in the rapper’s “Kanye Kardashian” persona. Despite the pressures of the entertainment industry, Charlamagne’s success story is credited to his ability to remain authentic. The misconception that his honesty is malicious hasn’t prevented him from earning the respect of multitudes.
“My father used to always tell me anybody that achieved any level of success or acquired some money and they change, they never knew who they were to begin with, “Charlamagne said.
From his role on Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club” with DJ Envy and Angela Yee, to his late night talk show, “Charlamagne and Friends” on MTV2, Charlamagne contemplated “turning his passion into paychecks,” as he put it. “It’s a scary feeling when your thoughts really do become things. So, you should keep positive things in your mind,” he said.
Is Charlamagne adding “author” to his resume? Plus, he talks about transitioning from radio to TV in the April 2014 issue.
