Some “Real Housewives of Atlanta” fans agree with NeNe Leakes that Peter Thomas and the hubbies need to stay out of “women’s business,” but Apollo Nida is Team Peter.
“We are the women’s business. It’s not being in the business. We are their business,” Apollo told Sister 2 Sister. “The show is called ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta,’ so typically it’s housewives of Atlanta. The men are just as much as involved in the relationship—in that network—as they are. At the end of the day, if you don’t want a man’s opinion, don’t have the man around.”
NeNe disliked Peter’s commentary on the women’s lives so much that she referred to him as a “b!tc#” in front of the entire cast. Apollo said that had to sting, but maybe not as much as when NeNe disappointed her fans by offering an abrupt acceptance speech during Kenya Moore’s charity event in NeNe’s honor.
“Peter holds NeNe in much high regard and has always had nothing but great things to say about NeNe,” Apollo explained. “When NeNe did that, she let Peter down.”
When NeNe offered those few brief words during the Saving Our Daughters event, that rubbed Peter the wrong way and when NeNe asked him why he decided to leave the party prematurely, he told her.
“Peter used his emotion and he was passionate when talking to her. It wasn’t disrespect I thought by no means. He was hurt, and he was saying, ‘You have a brand and there’s many people that are like me that look up to you, but they’re not going to tell you. They’re not going to confront you, but I’m going to confront you,’” Apollo explained. “It’s not a good look.”
NeNe and Gregg Leakes eventually apologized to Peter for calling him out of his name, but it remains to be seen whether Peter will still be offering commentary on the “women’s business.”
