Syleena Johnson wasn’t sad to see Nicci Gilbert leave “R&B Divas: Atlanta,” but she is not hating on her former on-screen nemesis.
“You know I don’t miss Nicci. Everybody knows that,” she recently told Sister 2 Sister, explaining that she thinks Nicci doesn’t take responsibility for her actions.
“I don’t hate Nicci at all. I think she needs to be accountable for some of her actions, but I don’t hate her at all. I wish her the best in everything she does,” said Syleena.
Nicci and Faith Evans have left TV One’s “R&B Divas: Atlanta,” which returns April 23 at 10 p.m. EST. Two new singers, Meelah Williams, of 702, and LaTavia Roberson, of Destiny’s Child, have joined the ladies, and Syleena thinks they’re a better fit.
“There were bumps, but bumps are inevitable. There’s nothing you can do about that,” she said about how the newbies got along with the returning cast members. “At anytime there are going to be bumps. You have different, strong personalities. Can you smooth them out? We were successful in doing that.”
Syleena said “R&B Divas” fans will be glad to see how well the six season 3 cast mates get along.
“This season we’ve gotten back to the music. There’s more singing. There are more performances. You get to see us sing together, create records. That was the point [of the show],” Syleena explained.
