There have been a lot of rumors swirling about who may or may not be returning to the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast for season 7, but Andy Cohen said the network hasn’t started thinking about that just yet.
“In terms of casting for next season, we haven’t made any of those decisions yet,” Andy told Bravo’s The Dish. “We wait until the season is over, over, over. We kind of regroup. We look back at the season. We look ahead to what these women have going on in their lives and that’s when we assess.”
Though he and the head honchos at Bravo haven’t started thinking toward season 7 yet, Andy shared that he was not at all happy about the incident of violence that went on during the season 6 reunion.
“There was an altercation that took place between Porsha [Williams] and Kenya [Moore]. They stood up. I think I stood up pretty quickly and it was such a flash. It started to escalate,” described Andy. “I was kinda trying to prevent it and a couple other people jumped in too.”
While Porsha seems to be the aggressor in most versions of the story and in a preview of the reunion show which airs Easter Sunday, NeNe Leakes has suggested that Porsha was provoked.
“I think that people sometimes try people over and over and over again, and you can’t just keep trying and pushing and pushing,” NeNe said on “Watch What Happens Live.”
“Kenya kept trying Porsha,” said NeNe who believes Kenya violated Porsha.
However, Andy didn’t really seem to cosign on NeNe’s version of events.
“The other women felt that Kenya provoked her a little bit and was provoking her. I was just so shocked and so surprised and I was just really upset,” said Andy.
There have been rumors that four of the “RHOA” cast members, not including Kenya, would leave the series if Porsha was fired for the altercation, but Andy did not directly address the gossip. However, he made it clear that he does not want similar incidents to occur in the future.
“I just don’t want that to happen again. I think it’s gross. It’s totally inappropriate; it’s wrong. It’s not entertaining. It’s just bad,” he said.
