Andy Cohen asked Porsha Williams to apologize to Kenya Moore for snatching her by her hair and dragging her across the floor during the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” reunion; however, Porsha wants Kenya to go first.
“I’m deserving of an apology,” said Porsha who didn’t hesitate to apologize to the other cast members or her fans.
“I want to apologize to the other ladies of the cast. When you lose control and you make someone act out of character—that was completely out of character for me. That’s why I was so embarrassed,” she said on “Access Hollywood.”
Porsha later released a similar statement to US Weekly without directing a specific apology to Kenya.
“I want to apologize to my fans, the viewers and the other ladies for my behavior,” Porsha told US. “For the thousands of supporters that have stuck by me I thank you immensely and encourage you to donate to shelters for abused woman and support charities that stop bullying. As I mentioned on the show I am embarrassed of my reaction and the way that I handled the provocation and I am dedicated to helping others learn appropriate ways to cope with bullies and abusers and from this experience I hope to continue on a path of personal and spiritual growth.”
Though footage of the fight seems to show Porsha reacting violently to Kenya’s verbal taunting, the “Flatline” singer and her lawyer have accused Kenya of being the “primary aggressor.”
Many “RHOA” fans and cast members interpreted Kenya’s continued use of a scepter and bullhorn when addressing Porsha as provocation, but that’s not the only reason Porsha wants an apology.
“I did not file charges on myself. I didn’t decide to just go get a mug shot. I did not decide to come to the reunion with weapons and point them and provoke someone,” said Porsha who may have been more upset about her brush with the law than her pretty mug shot suggested.
“Those steps that she took to begin this whole process, she has to go back and humble herself to the situation and apologize and then we can move forward and possibly see eye to eye,” said Porsha who does take some responsibility for her actions and hopes to never repeat that behavior again.
“I will definitely take steps in the future to maybe remove myself or something for it not to go that way. I will not allow bullying in the future. I do not condone violence ever, in the future,” said Porsha who is willing to accept Kenya’s apology if or when it is offered.
“She will definitely receive one back if I receive one,” said Porsha.
