Cynthia Bailey said NeNe Leakes’ comments during her one-on-one interview with Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live” were malicious.
“Even when we stopped being friends I just thought we could peacefully go our separate ways,” Cynthia explained to Rickey Smiley on his radio show. “I never doubted for a second that this woman looked out for me and I looked out for her and our friendship was genuine until she went on Andy’s show and made it very clear, crystal clear, that she had no regard for me, for my family, for my job, how we put food on my table.”
Following Part 1 of the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” reunion show, NeNe sat down with Andy and questioned her former BFF’s contribution to the show.
“I think Cynthia is okay. It’s not like she’s really bringing anything to the show. To be honest, she talks about The Baily Agency and BarOne. It’s not like they’re really talking about anything,” NeNe said to Andy last month.
Without literally calling for Cynthia to be fired from the show, NeNe suggested that viewers wouldn’t be missing anything if Cynthia were gone.
“She really tried to take all of that away,” Cynthia said about her steady Bravo paycheck. “That was the only time that I thought, ‘You could never say you were my friend and be able to do that.’ People can move on without trying to destroy each other.”
During the reunion show there seemed to be a glimmer of hope that maybe Cynthia and NeNe could patch things up as Cynthia suggested they talk after the cameras turned off; however, that was before NeNe’s verbal thrashing on “WWHL.”
NeNe has accused Cynthia of flip-flopping and befriending her “RHOA” nemesis Kenya Moore. In a BravoTV.com interview, Cynthia implied that she just may entertain the idea of a friendship with Kenya Moore.
“I’ve never gotten that close to the other girls on the show and now that I’m not best buds with NeNe, some of the other ladies will be more open and I’ll be more open to getting to know them,” said Cynthia who isn’t expecting to mend things with NeNe.
“I don’t think I did anything wrong. That would mean she has to apologize and figure out a way to make it right, and she’s not big on apologizing,” she said. “I’m not going to hold my breath. I’m assuming it’s done. That ship has sailed.”
