Quvenzhané Wallis has solidified her status as one of Hollywood’s youngest fashionistas with her fabulous new gigs!
The Beasts of the Southern Wild star has officially joined the ranks of the young, Black and fashionable! According to The Hollywood Reporter, Quvenzhané has taken on a new role as the face of Armani Jr. It’s Giorgio Armani’s line of clothes for kids and teens.
Quvenzhané, who will be starring alongside Jamie Foxx in Annie later this year, is no stranger to the brand.
“I’m so happy to be chosen by Mr. Armani to be his ambassador for Armani Junior,” Quvenzhané said in a statement. “I was honored to wear his custom gown to the Oscars. It made me feel like a princess. When I saw Mr. Armani’s Prive show in New York, the dresses were so pretty … I had too many favorites.”
She added, “It’s fun to wear Armani Junior since I really like the clothes. It’s young. It’s cool. My friends are going to want to borrow all my clothes.”
Giorgio Armani himself couldn’t think of anyone more fitting to represent his new line than the 10-year-old actress. It’s not just her acting skills that convinced him to hire Quvenzhané, but he feels her personality really embodies the feel of the brand.
“Quvenzhane is so talented, despite her young age. Her kindness, curiosity and openness toward others really struck me, as they are all traits I admire,” the designer said. “It is for this very reason that I wanted her to be the face of Armani Junior. With her insatiable energy, Quvenzhané made the clothing come alive, interpreting it in her own singular way.”
