Planning a wedding can be stressful and when it’s done in five weeks, there can be a lot of drama, and that’s exactly what fans will get when “Kandi’s Wedding” premieres Sunday on Bravo.
“When it comes to planning a wedding, sometimes it can bring out the worst and the best in people,” Kandi’s maid of honor Carmon Cambrice told Sister 2 Sister. “There were heated discussions.”
Carmon, who’s known Kandi for more than 25 years, said the former Xscape singer was able to remain calm despite the fast pace of the planning.
“I wouldn’t describe Kandi as bridezilla. She might have had some bridesmaidzillas,” Carmon said. “She was always calm. Everything around her was crazy, but she wasn’t. It was everything and everybody else.”
Carmon said getting everything together for Kandi’s Coming to America-themed ceremony was a big job and when it was over, they all released their tension at the reception.
“It was a big celebration. I don’t dance and I think I danced all night long,” said Carmon who is also Kandi’s assistant. “Afterwards, I think everybody that was involved in the planning—because we had this huge task of planning this dream wedding in 5 weeks—everybody that took part in planning or just had anything to do with this wedding, it was just a celebration that we accomplished this. It was over and we were going to enjoy.”
