As if Tamar Braxton’s schedule isn’t busy enough with reality TV shows, new music and an infant to care for, the Love and War singer will be back to co-host “The Real” in September.
“It’s so fun. The girls and I, we really have a great relationship. We don’t agree on everything, but we agree to disagree. Sometimes it gets a little dramatic because everybody believes in what they believe and what they think, and everybody wants to get their own opinions across,” Tamar told Billboard.com. “Just expect to have a good time and talk about things, you know, people want to hear about.”
The show co-stars Lonnie Love, Tamara Mowry-Housley, Adrianne Bailon and Jeannie Mae. With four older sisters and a strong mother, Tamar knows something about functioning in a group of women.
She described their relationships as “the constant battle of being sisters and trying to find our ways in our lives.”
“Braxton Family Values” viewers likely remember that Tamar was feeling like an outsider during season 3 of the show. She said the ladies are trying to “mend the broken fences that happened last season.” She’s also has another season of “Tamar & Vince” coming up soon.
She said that show will focus on how she’s balancing being a wife, mother and music artist.
“Motherhood is the best thing that ever happened to me,” she said. “It kind of put everything in perspective. There’s time to work. There’s time to be a wife and there’s time to be a mother and that’s what comes first for me.”
Though she’s busy wearing several different stylish hats, Tamar said she’s enjoying the ride.
“Right now I’m in a place where I’m really happy and sometimes I’m overwhelmed, but at the end of the day I’m just trying to balance it all and understand myself as a woman,” said Tamar who plans to pour that all into her new music. “Those are the songs I’m writing right now.”
