Keyshia Cole has been accused of trying to keep her family off of reality TV…again.
A source close to Frankie Lons and Neffeteria Pugh, Keyshia’s mom and sister respectively, said the singer is making it difficult for her relatives to launch their upcoming series, “Frankie’s Family Therapy.”
A trailer, described as “The show Keyshia Cole doesn’t want the world to see,” was recently leaked, and the family members did not approve that dramatic tagline. According to an anonymous Sister 2 Sister source, Keyshia’s relatives weren’t ready for the world to see the show’s teaser just yet, and they certainly wouldn’t have included Keyshia’s name on the footage.
Although the source acknowledged that whatever Keyshia’s relatives do reflects on the artist to some degree, the show has nothing to do with the “I Remember” singer whose relationship with her family members hasn’t improved much. Despite sporadic reports that the family is healed and getting along fine, the source said Keyshia still isn’t really speaking to her relatives, specifically Neffe, who barely knows her nephew.
In addition to Frankie and Neffe, the show features Elite, Latifia, Sam and Rob, who Neffe reunited to go through group counseling, as well as one-on-one therapy.
Since their BET reality show, Frankie has been working with manager LeRoy McNabb doing club appearances and other public events. Neffe is working on an eyelash line and her company Nyla Productions created “Frankie’s Family Therapy,” along with Judge Joe Brown and Celebritunity.
Though Keyshia supposedly opposes her family’s reality TV pursuits, the source pointed out that Keyshia’s responsible for first introducing TV viewers to her relatives. “Keyshia brought them into this line of work,” said the source. “To now try to cut them entirely out…It’s not fair.”
These most recent rumors aren’t the first time Keyshia’s been accused of trying to keep her family off TV. According to industry gossip, Keyshia’s displeasure with “Frankie & Neffe” is one reason the BET show did not return for subsequent seasons.
