Fantasia is still on her journey to create a rock soul album, and she will not stop until she gets the sound right.
Music lovers should prepare their ears for some more new music from Fantasia because she’s gearing up to record again.
Fannie has a clear idea of what she wants her next studio project to sound like. The Side Effects of You was a very soulful album, but when she goes into the studio again she wants to create some a little edgier.
“This whole rock soul direction has been on my heart. I’ll always be soulful: I started singing in the church at the age of five. So that will never go anywhere,” she told Billboard.com. “There’s a certain side of me that wants to tap into that whole rock world. It’s hard to come from R&B to that, but it’s something I believe in and will fight for.”
Her favorite producer Harmony Samuels will be right there on the battlefield beside her fighting for that sound, too. Fantasia couldn’t imagine working on a release with anyone else. They have great creative chemistry that she doesn’t want to break up.
“We’re going back in the studio soon,” Fantasia said. “I feel like I should always do albums with Harmony because he gets me. He’s like my Quincy Jones.”
