Columbus Short calls ‘Scandal’ co-stars family

TwitPics_ColumbusKerry_081612.jpgHis personal life may be chaotic, but Columbus Short said his exit from “Scandal” was amicable and drama free.

“They did not throw me to the curb like trash. That’s my family,” Columbus recently told “Access Hollywood.”

The Stomp the Yard actor was released from the show after its third season following legal troubles that apparently affected his work with the hit ABC series.

While some assumed the powers that be were unsympathetic and frustrated with Columbus, he said that’s not the case.

“They knew that I was going through a tough season and rallied around me. It was very classy; it was a very tough day for both sides,” he said. “As hard as it was to hear, it was as hard for ABC and Shonda [Rhimes] to pass that information on.”
