Terry Crews’ ‘Manhood’ is about learning from mistakes

Terry CrewsActor Terry Crews wants you to know that Manhood isn’t your typical celebrity memoir. “I didn’t want it to be one of those things where this is how great I am here, this is how great I was and this is how great I’m going to be,” Terry told Sister 2 Sister about his book, which was released in May.

After you read it and get to know more about the man behind the success, you will understand why. “I am really getting ready to answer a lot of questions about who I am and what was I thinking,” Terry explained. “It’s really about all the mistakes that I’ve made that made me into the man that I am right now.”

Relationships play a big part in Manhood, especially the one between Terry and wife Rebecca Crews, who starred along side him in BET’s reality show “The Family Crews.” Like with reality TV, the book means opening up and exposing a lot of closed doors.

“I went over everything with her and let her know what was going in [the book] and how it was going to be and she was like, ‘Look, you need to tell it for real…’”
