It may have seemed as though the ladies of “Married to Medicine” were ousting their former Queen Bee Mariah Huq, but Toya Bush-Harris said the Bangladeshi beauty is responsible for isolating herself from the group.
“When the season first started, I gave everybody a clean slate, including Mariah. I invited her to every function that I had, even at my son’s party at my home. I even allowed her back into my home after everything we went through,” Toya told Sister 2 Sister, alluding to the season 1 fight between the two women.
“Mariah had her own reasons for not attending,” explained Toya who said Quad Webb-Lunceford’s potential presence was often enough reason for Mariah to decline invitations.
According to Toya, the women stopped welcoming Mariah to events. “Who would continue to invite her to things?” asked Toya. “She wasn’t making an effort.”
Effort is something cast member Simone Whitmore also wanted from Mariah, but after repeated heated arguments with Quad and bringing a Coming to America entourage to a child’s party, Mariah’s co-stars started to distance themselves.
“It put everyone in a very awkward position,” said Toya who described Mariah as “guarded” throughout the season.
