Peter Thomas had more money problems than many “Real Housewives of Atlanta” fans realized and he roped his wife into the financial nightmare.
According to Reality Tea, Peter’s Bar One filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2013 because the establishment owed more than $332,000 to a number of different creditors. His wife, Cynthia Bailey, and the IRS were among the list of people and organizations that Bar One owed money.
When he filed last year, Peter claimed that Bar One only had $61,000. Court documents state that the lounge owed $118,000 to Georgia for unpaid taxes and another $60,000 to Peter himself. The real kicker was that Bar One also owed Cynthia $40,000!
As it turns out, Cynthia supposedly loaned Bar One $60,000 in 2012, which it repaid. The bar had to borrow most of that back later.
MediaTakeOut.com reports that Peter’s request for bankruptcy was denied.
Neither Peter nor Cynthia have commented on the gossip at this time.
