Who didn’t love Theo Huxtable on “The Cosby Show?” It turns out Malcolm-Jamal Warner didn’t learn to appreciate his character until years later as an adult.
The heartthrob/former child star may have wanted Theo to be cooler, and co-star Lisa Bonet may have had something to do with that.
“Early on, it was Lisa,” Malcolm said when “Access Hollywood Lives” hosts asked him about his teenage crush. “I never had a shot. At 13, 14, you know when you have a shot or not – even at that age.”
Lisa and Malcolm’s relationship is more similar to the one they had onscreen as siblings. “Lisa and I have been very cool,” he said. “I’m very cool with everybody because we all bonded in this unique experience. That bond, no matter how much time goes by, we’ll always have that bond.”
Malcolm will be featured on a different type of show now, the TNT crime drama “Major Crimes.” His character is Lt. Chuck Cooper.
“I like my character. He is a character of authority. He works for the Special Investigative Services, which is part of the law enforcement that the LAPD calls in to do the very heavy lifting,” he said.
