The Ferguson Police Department has released a report indicating that Michael Brown was suspected of robbing a convenience store minutes before he was shot and killed by officer Darren Wilson.
The department released grainy images of a person grabbing a story employee by the neck. It’s unclear whether a positive identification of the culprit has been made.
Attorney Benjamin Crump described the department’s implications about Michael’s robbery involvement “smoke and mirrors.”
“There was nothing based on the facts that have been placed before us that would justify this execution style murder by this police officer in broad daylight,” Benjamin said. “It’s not enough that they assassinated him in broad daylight in the middle of the street. They also have to assassinate his character to try to get away with it.”
