During the recent conversations surrounding Bill Cosby and rape allegations against the comedian, many have asked, “What’s his wife have to say?” Camille Cosby is speaking out.
The wife of “The Cosby Show” creator released a statement supporting her husband and assured fans that his TV persona is exactly who he is in real life.
“The man I met, and fell in love with, and whom I continue to love, is the man you all knew through his work. He is a kind man, a generous man, a funny man, and a wonderful husband, father and friend. He is the man you thought you knew,” read the statement.
Camille and Bill have been married for 50 years, and many have questioned how she could resolutely stand by her man with the renewed rape allegations from more than a dozen women.
However, citing that there has been no proof provided to support their rape claims, Camille suggested that her husband is the real victim, not the accusers, whose stories have not been substantiated.
“There appears to be no vetting of my husband’s accusers before stories are published or aired. An accusation is published, and immediately goes viral,” she said. “None of us will ever want to be in the position of attacking a victim. But the question should be asked – who is the victim?”
