Busta Rhymes Claims Jay Z Was His Inspiration In High School

Just like Jay Z and The Notorious B.I.G, Busta Rhymes also went to George Westinghouse Career and Technical Education High School in downtown Brooklyn, New York.

In a recent interview with Fuse’s Skee TV show, Busta revealed a story of  a rap battle he had with Jay Z when they were younger.

Becuase Big “wasn’t into rhyming in school” Busta ended up battling Jay Z, who he claimed was a master at speed rapping and he said Jay “finessed the speed rapping phenomenally at that time.”

“I was new at the speed-rapping,” Busta expressed in the clip of his interview on Skee TV. “Losing that battle to Jay and speed rapping at that time, is what made me one of the most dangerous speed rappers of today.”

“Jay know he can’t see me in speed rapping today,” he implies, trying not to laugh.

Rhymes believes that if he didn’t lose that battle to Jay Z in high school in the lunch room, that he possibly would have never become as talented in speed-rapping as he is today.
