Neffe Pugh, sister of reality star Keyshia Cole, said that her BET series, “Frankie & Neffe,” damaged her relationship with her sister.
“The straw that broke the camel’s back was that she did not like the fact that me and Mom did the ‘Frankie & Neffe Show’ with Manny Hailey without involving her,” Neffe told Bossip.com.
Manny, Keyshia’s former manager, was instrumental in the singer’s career and bringing her life to reality TV. The sisters were both featured on Keyshia’s first BET series, “The Way It Is,” and Neffe’s absence from the new show, “Family First,” brought about a lot of questions.
“Everybody in the world knows it’s been off and on with myself and Keyshia. Don’t get me wrong. I love my sister and she loves me. Somewhere down the line we went our separate ways, but while I’ve been focused on trying to rebuild our relationship, she’s been busy rebuilding her career and been focused on her family,” said Neffe, who explained why she didn’t attend Keyshia’s wedding.
“I didn’t go to the wedding because I wasn’t properly invited. I’m just being honest,” Neffe said. “I wasn’t invited to the actual wedding ceremony in Vegas. I was invited to the wedding/taping in Hawaii and I felt like if I wasn’t invited to the first one, why should I go to a ceremony that you’re taping in Hawaii?”
Neffe said she also felt less than welcome since some members of her immediate family weren’t invited.
“I got a phone call two days before the wedding and only myself and my two daughters were invited. My husband and my five children were not,” she said. “I could not just get up and hop on a plane and go to a wedding ceremony. That was craziness to me.”
While they aren’t close at the moment, both Keyshia and Neffe have expressed a desire to work things out.
“I would love, love, love, love absolutely nothing more in this world than to have my sister, for sure,” Keyshia recently told "The Rickey Smiley Morning Show."
Neffe said she’s confident that she and her sister will get past their current issues.
“I don’t know what it is between myself and Keyshia. We just can’t agree to disagree. That’s what I believe. I love my sister. There’s no sibling rivalry. Somewhere down the line, we’ll figure it out,” she said.
