While some men can’t seem to go 10 minutes without some sort of sexual interaction, DeVon Franklin said he abstained from sex for more than 10 years.
The preacher and movie exec said it was an easy decision for him to make, considering he wanted to practice what he preached.
“I would go and preach one thing, but then I was living another, and I could not do it. I could not look at myself in the mirror. No, I could not live like this. So, I had to stop,” DeVon told GlobalGrind.com. “Until I get married, that’s off the table.”
DeVon’s years of celibacy ended recently when the Seventh Day Adventist preacher married actress Meagan Good.
Unlike some married men who joke about the hardships of living with “The Mrs.,” the newlywed admitted that being wed has added to his bliss.
“We’ve been married for just over three months. That was a key to happiness. I recommend it. With men, sometimes we run from it, but it’s a blessing. It’s the greatest blessing of life to have love,” he said.
