Unofficial “Real Housewives of Atlanta” co-star, Miss Lawrence, said the season 5 newbies know how to bring the drama just as well as their veteran counterparts.
“Kenya Moore definitely holds her own,” Lawrence said of the beauty queen whose hair he’s been styling since her pageant days.
“For her to have this move to Atlanta and become a part of such a huge franchise so fast, she holds her own tremendously. Make sure you watch out for her,” he told TooFab.com.
In previews for the new season, which starts Nov. 4, Kenya is seen arguing with one of the show’s biggest personalities, NeNe Leakes.
Lawrence describes NeNe as the cast member who’s changed the most. Apparently, those changes are for the better, since she is the last remaining housewife from the original cast.
“I think the person that has changed the most is NeNe … in a good way. NeNe has definitely blossomed. NeNe has done a complete 180. She really grew into the person she was called to be: an entertainer and providing a good strong foundation for her family as a woman of color,” he said.
As for newcomer Porsha Stewart, Lawrence described her as “pretty nice.”
“I didn’t know her before the show and I’ve only been around her a couple times at a couple of the events. She’s a young girl. She’s cute,” he said, counting the ladies’ attractiveness as one reason they can’t always get along.
“The girls always clash. When you have too many girls with nice bodies and nice faces, there’s always some cattiness that goes on, but I steer clear of it,” he said.
Lawrence assured fans that he’ll still be popping up on the show even though his on-screen bestie, Sheree Whitfield, is no longer part of the series. He doesn’t seem very worried about Sheree’s departure though.
“I’m never sad when it comes to change. I think change is necessary for everyone. The only thing that I get sad about is when people move on and they have no direction,” he explained. “So no, I’m not sad that Sheree is moving on. I think Sheree has her focus and she knows what she wants out of life. I’m excited for her and know the future holds great things for her.”
According to Lawrence, season 5 of “RHOA” holds some great things as well.
“It’s funny because Atlanta ‘Housewives’ is one of those shows you get the best of all worlds: you get a little bit of class, a little bit of drama and a little bit of hood,” he said. “It’s going to be a really good season.”
