Gabrielle Union won’t be rushed into getting married or having a family despite her age.
The "Being Mary Jane" star, who turned 40 over the weekend, won’t be walking down the aisle and popping out any babies in the near future. In fact, the actress revealed that she’s not even thinking about kids right now.
"No, I have dance-on-table fever," Gabby told JustTheFab.com. "You [can't] really do those two together or I think they arrest you."
While some may question why the actress isn’t hearing her biological clock ticking, Gabrielle admitted that she’s happy with her relationship just where it is.
"Eventually, I’ll probably get baby-fever somewhere after, you know, marriage fever, and I’m still enjoying boyfriend-girlfriend fever," she said.
If you’re following the conventional path of ‘first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes Dwyane Wade with the baby carriage,’ then Gabrielle is still on step one.
"I don’t know," Gabrielle said of her plans for getting hitched to D.Wade. "We like each other a lot, and we both failed miserably the last time either one of us got married."
Gabrielle and D.Wade seem very happy in their relationship, only recently opening up about their love in the last year. They seem set on sticking to their timeline instead of being pushed down the aisle by society. Besides, they’re only concerned about being happy with one another and not so much with what everyone else thinks.
"I think we’re doing it slow, you know what I mean?" said Gabrielle "I think when you rush in, then people have crap to say. If you go too slow, people still have stuff to say. So, I think we have to just take it at the pace that’s great for us."
Marriage is not completely out of the question, it’s just not where they are right now. Gabrielle added, "I’m open to everything, but right now I just like saying “my boyfriend, my boyfriend, my boyfriend D Wade.’ And then maybe later, provided my eggs aren’t dust, we’ll see what I can (coughs) cough out."
