It was a triumphant return to the Georgia Dome for Michael Vick as he helped the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Atlanta Falcons.
The Falcons cast off scored two touchdowns against his old team, which were his first ever since 2006. Even though the Eagles trounced his old team, 34-7, Falcons fans that were sporting his jersey still welcomed him home with thunderous cheers.
"It was as loud as it gets in the Dome," Michael, whose eyes got a little misty on the way to the Dome, told the Associated Press. "I heard the chants all through the stadium and it sent chills down my spine. They were just letting me know that people still appreciate what I’ve done."
Michael shined in the second half of the game with his 5-yeard running touch down. He threw a 5-yard pass to Brent Celek for his second touchdown of the night.
"It couldn’t have happened at a better time," Michael said. "I want to become one of the top quarterbacks in this league again."
"You were seeing a guy in his element," said Eagles teammate Donovan McNabb. "I think he was just relishing the moment."
