The next time you open the door to the local Domino’s Pizza delivery person, you might be in for a little shock. The popular delivery chain is tinkering with its famous pizzas.
The pies will get a full makeover: a more flavorful crust (seasoned with butter, garlic and parsley), different cheese and a sweeter sauce with a hint of red pepper. The decisions weren’t easy either. The Domino’s crew spent a year and a half testing ingredients and conducting research.
"The fact is, we love our pizza, but as times change, so do consumer tastes," said Russell Weiner, Domino’s Chief Marketing Officer, in a press release. "We’ve created a pizza to reflect what consumers are looking for. We’re not talking about a slightly-altered version of our previous pizza. It’s a completely new pizza reinvented from the crust up, and we are proud of it.
The change will coincide with the company’s 50th anniversary and will begin on Dec. 27.
