Ryan Leslie is on a mission to find a ride as smooth as his tunes in a new ad campaign for Lexus.
The singer-songwriter is teaming with the luxury automaker for a whole new marketing experience. Ryan is set to appear in a series of Lexus TV spots titled “The Rushers” where he’s been tasked with tracking down one of their vehicles.
“I’ve never been in any commercials before, so this is really just an incredible experience all around,” Ryan revealed. “When I stepped on the set, I actually though that I was the star of this piece. And then I came to find out that the star of this piece is actually the Lexus GX 460.”
Thankfully there aren’t any hard feelings from Ryan about doing backup for an SUV. Would you be crying if you got a custom-made GX 460 for your trouble?!
“I’ve already picked mine out. It’s going to be black on black,” he dished on YouTube.
But Lexus is definitely making him work for his wheels. In addition to the commercial, Ryan has been performing sets at the Lexus Listening Lounge in several different cities. And be on the look out for online components because Lexus plans to utilize social media sites, like Twitter and Facebook, in their marketing campaign.
The first TV spot will run right after Ryan’s performance at the BET Honors, airing February 1 at 9 p.m. EST on BET. If you can’t wait that long, check out a sneak peek from “The Rushers” below.
